Arbitration & Mediation

Dispute resolution has always been an essential part of our practice.

We intervene at all levels of the judicial process, whether in civil, commercial, or administrative matters. We are comfortable aiding clients with administrative procedures of a jurisdictional nature brought before supervisory, regulatory, or disciplinary bodies in Belgium and in France. In the latter country, this is often – but not always – done with local collaboration. We represent clients in the Court of First Instance, the Court of Justice, and the Civil Service Tribunal of the European Union, based in Luxembourg.

We help resolve disputes by means of national or international arbitration. We serve as counsel to the parties, as an arbitrator, or as a legal expert in any of these proceedings.

We also favor mediation as a means of resolving conflicts, either as counsel to a party or as a mediator. One of us is an accredited Mediator. Mediation is sometimes seen as a concession already made, but in fact a trained Mediator facilitates the flow of information between belligerents, to clarify or even restore the relations between them. If successful, it helps avoid the bitterness that conventional conflict resolution can create and thus lead to resolution
